Acupuncture is one of the most important tools.
Since the 1970s when only a few practitioners used Acupuncture, there is now a wide spread use of Acupuncture and integration into clinical situation.
Why Acupuncture has become so popular?
What are the reasons behind a treatment becomes so popular while not long ago it was called ‘alternative’ and sometimes ‘fraud’? The reasons are many but to mention a few:
· It simply works!
· We understand them better after research!
· Classical treatments don’t work as good or do harm!
Why Acupuncture Works?
Many controlled studies Worldwide shows good results, not only short term but also long term, specially when the practitioner has the ‘freedom’ to traditional practice.
How Does It Work?
In the 1980s I wrote a thesis for an advanced study on what is called ‘Triggerpoints’ or ‘Ah Shi’ points, Traditional Chinese Acupuncture knowledge of what is called today ‘the gate theory of pain’ Ah Shi because of the exclamation in Chinese meaning ‘Oh Yes’ or ‘O sh..t’ At that time (the 80s) no self respecting Neurologist identified himself with that. After long research and as result of the already mentioned Gate Theory of pain it turn out to be a hot item for every Neurologist. Remember that it was already known for thousands of years!
